You Have to Give Yourself a Break
Yes, I’m talking to you, mama!
And I mean this in two different ways.
In the first sense of the phrase “give yourself a break,”
You need to give yourself a break and realize that you can’t do everything for everyone. You can’t even do everything.
You need to settle for less than perfect. In the end, perfection isn’t what is most important.
You need to stop comparing yourself to other mothers. You aren’t them. Your situation is different than theirs. You are doing your best.
You need to stop comparing what you are able to do to what other mothers are able to do. Your abilities are not the same as theirs.
Don’t push yourself to do too much because you think you aren’t doing enough. You are doing enough.
If you feel like a failure, you’re not. (See all of the above for verification).
In the second sense:
Mama, you need to give yourself a break from everything. Put it all on pause for ten minutes.
You need downtime.
You need to be able to take some time out of each day where you can spend at least ten minutes doing something to help refill your cup.
